Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed Luke Shaw could be ruled out of the test of the season.

Speaking in his last match press conference for the season, ten Hag said Shaw is a doubt to return for United’s last Premier League fixture against Brighton, including the FA Cup clash against cross-city rivals Manchester City.

“Luke Shaw is a doubt. We are working to have him return to the turf but he is a big doubt for the last two matches for the season,” Ten Hag said.

The under-pressure gaffer also went on to confirm Shaw may miss England’s 2024 Euros.

“He may not make England 2024 Euros as he has yet to recover,” he added.

Shaw has struggled for minutes with Manchester United this season. Prior to his injury blow, he has managed only 15 appearances for the club this season.

While the prospect of his imminent return this season looks bleak, Shaw is expected to fight for his fitness before Gareth Southgate names his squad for 2024 Euros.

The England wing-back has been a casualty of United’s heavy injury record this term which has all outfield players sidelined once or more 62 times.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag will be hoping to weather the injury plague and see out Brighton to maintain hopes of European football next season.
