Kylian Mbappe and PSG President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi are set for showdown talks after a boiling transfer row in June.
Skysports reports Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Mbappe will meet for face-to-face talks after the transfer faceoff following Mbappe’s transfer decision last month.
The meeting will be the first time Kylian Mbappe and Nassr Al-Khelaifi will be meeting following Mbappe’s controversial exit letter.
Recall the French talisman wrote a letter to PSG confirming his decision not to renew his contract in 2024 but will be ready to run out the remaining 12 months of his contract.
Amid speculations linking him to an exit from the club, Mbappe revealed that his decision not to extend his contract was already communicated to the club in 2022. His recent letter was just a reminder of his decision and he did not intend to have the letter slip into media space.
The Real Madrid target added PSG’s decision to disclose the letter to the media was an attempt on soiling his reputation.
“We regret that the receipt of this letter has been transmitted to the media and that these exchanges are made public with the sole aim of damaging his image and the smooth running of conversations with the club,” Mbappe’s entourage said.
Reacting to Mbappe’s exit letter, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been clear on Kylian Mbappe’s future at PSG.
“We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free. We can’t do that. This is a French club.
“He said he would never leave for free. If he changes his mind today, it’s not my fault. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, that’s very clear,” he said.
Real Madrid are the third player in the Mbappe and PSG transfer row. After a failed push to signed the player in 2021, the club were once again on the trail of Mbappe this summer but it is understood the club have backed off from a move for the player after reports emerged PSG want over €200m for Mbappe.
Mbappe has been a fan of Real Madrid from childhood and has fancied a dream of playing for the club one day. There are unconfirmed reports some members of PSG hierarchy believe Mbappe have reached an agreement to join Real Madrid after Mbappe called the club a divisive club in a controversial interview.

It is understood Kylian Mbappe’s PSG future will dominate the meeting between him and Nassr Al-Khelaifi.
It will be the first time the duo will meet after the exit letter row last month. Mbappe has been given until July 31 to make his decision on his PSG future before the club proceeds on their decision on whether to keep him or sell him this summer.
PSG position on the dragging row has been clear – either Mbappe signs a new contract untill 2025 at least or be sold this summer.
It is believed Nasser Al-Khelaifi will not deviate from the club’s stand as he prepares to engage the French youngster.
