Sad one for Julian Araujo as his expected move to Catalan giants Barcelona broke down as a result of paperwork issues.

The Los Angeles Galaxy Defender, Araujo couldn’t conclude a sensational deal to Barcelona as his paperworks and intended documentations were submitted at a time considered too late.

FIFA’s stand on the Julian Araujo deal

The Federation Of International Football Association made it known on Friday alongside the director of football at Barcelona, Mateu Alemany that there was a system error.

That system error caused Barcelona to miss the time stipulated as the deadline by 18 seconds, the club have followed it up with an appeal to FIFA.

FIFA have in swift fashion rejected the appeal and Julian Araujo would have to remain in the MLS for the time being as the summer is not so far away.

FIFA stated subsequently the reasons why the deal fell apart in the closing stages and their statement reads thus, “FIFA can confirm that the transfer of the player Julian Araujo from LA Galaxy to FC Barcelona was not completed in line with the applicable regulations.”

Julian Araujo was in line to join one of La Liga’s most successful teams Barcelona but the deal wasn’t wrapped up in time.

He was expected to join up with the reserve team of the Blaugrana side under head coach Rafael Marquez while preparing to catch any opportunity thrown his way due to Hector Bellerin’s move to Sporting Lisbon.

    Julian Araujo

Julian Araujo is representing Mexico national team on the international scene despite representing the United States Of America at youth level and also for senior duties.

LA Galaxy would still enjoy the services of the defender for the time being pending the month and time the summer transfer window opens.

Los Angeles Galaxy would be hoping for continued wonderful performances from the defender as they face defending champions of the MLS Cup, Los Angeles FC on opening day of the Major League Soccer new season.

Los Angeles Galaxy manager optimistic of Araujo’s deal before FIFA’s stumbling block on the deal

Araujo’s manager, Greg Vanney is highly optimistic and confident that the young defender would sign for Barcelona but it’s now a matter of when most likely.

Julian Araujo in action for Los Angeles Galaxy

Because Julian Araujo cannot sign up for Barcelona this winter transfer window anymore due to FIFA’s ruling on the deal.

All parties involved in this deal would have to wait till the summer transfer window for a possible headway towards the course they expect their ship to sail.

The initial deal to sign Araujo on a one year loan deal with a buyout clause of six million dollars was completed but as it has been stated the gray area with this deal was the documentations.

The Los Angeles Galaxy man is a young intelligent Right back who is burgeoning rapidly into his own and since Dani Alves left Barcelona they have been looking for a replacement.

Araujo offers excellent bite attacking-wise as he is a very creative fullback and he is also dependable doing his primary defensive duties.

His numbers for Interceptions, tackles and clearances are impressive and remarkable. Although, Barcelona wouldn’t throw him into the fray instantly when he possibly joins them, he would be a talent to watch out for in the nearest future.
