According to reports from Spain, (La Gazzetta Dello Sport) Moriera has not been performing to the expectations of Barcelona’s coaching staff enough to earn a deal with the Catalan giant.
Laporta has reportedly asked the coaching staff to give the 17 year old center forward more time to earn a contract.

According to Mundo Deportivo, conversations about a potential contract for the young player are currently being held between Joan Laporta and Roberto de Assis, the brother of Ronaldinho’s son.
Moreira began his career in the Cruzeiro youth team in his own country before looking to further his budding career in Europe.
Joao de Assis Moreira is working out with the club’s junior teams to secure a permanent contract for Ronaldinho’s son who is currently undergoing a trial with Barcelona.
Moriera is an attacking player who can also play in midfield, much like his father. Cruzeiro was his former club, however, he decided to end his agreement at the club to explore a move to Europe. He may be about to follow in his father’s footsteps and sign for Barcelona as conversations are already underway.
Although his future is uncertain, many supporters would like to see a Ronaldinho replacement at Barca once more.
Ronaldinho, the father of Moreira, was one of Barcelona’s key players during Laporta’s first tenure as the club’s president, which lasted from 2003 to 2010.
Between 2003 and 2008, Ronaldinho spent a spectacular five years at Barcelona.
He joined the team from PSG the year after winning the World Cup in 2002, and he later won the Ballon d’Or in 2005.
In 2004 and 2005, he was again honored as the FIFA World Player of the Year.
Ronaldinho won the Champions League and La Liga twice in 2006 as Barcelona defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the UCL final in Paris.
Ronaldinho scored 98 goals in 207 games with FC Barcelona.
He (Ronaldinho) is regarded as one of Barcelona’s all-time outstanding players.
If Moreira were to eventually sign with Barcelona, he would probably continue to advance in the club’s renowned La Masia academy.
Over the years, the academy has turned forth some exceptional footballers, like Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Lionel Messi.
What’s next for Moriera?
The 17 year old promising star will be looking forward to improving as he will continue his trial with Barcelona.
