Harry Kane has expressed that he is uncertain about what Jude Bellingham said whilst he was set to take a penalty for Bayern Munich in the first leg of the semi-final affair.
Bellingham was seen appearing to distract Kane before he thundered home the penalty to put the Bavarians 2-1 up at the Allianz Arena.
Vinicius Jr had initially scored the opener for Los Blancos in the 24th minute, but a Leroy Sane equalizer in the 53rd minute saw both sides back on level pegging.
Despite the antics of Jude Bellingham to put off Kane, the captain of the English national team stepped up and showed his quality in front of goal.
Harry Kane On What Jude Bellingham Said To Him Ahead Of His Penalty Goal Against Real Madrid
Speaking after the encounter on what Jude Bellingham was saying to him as he was about to take the penalty, Harry Kane said:
“To be honest I don’t know what he was saying. He was mumbling… I’d have to ask him what he said.
“Once I’m in that moment I’m in that zone and I block everything out but I’m sure he was saying something to try and put me off! Thankfully it was okay for me.”
Anyway, Vinicius Jr also stepped up to equalize for Real Madrid in the 83rd minute, with the entertaining clash ending 2-2 at the Allianz Arena.
It will be interesting to see which side comes out on top at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 4, 2024.
Meanwhile, the goal from the penalty mark Harry Kane was his 42nd goal this campaign in 43 appearances for Bayern Munich.
Harry Kane’s Comment On His First Season At Bayern Munich
The attacker also touched on how his debut season has been after joining from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023.
Kane shared: “Yeah, it’s been a good season so far. Like I said, it’s just about the next game week away from home against Real Madrid.
“Everything we are fighting for this year is in this competition. It will be tough, but we’ve got to go there with full belief.”
The UEFA Champions League appears to be Harry Kane’s hope of winning silverware this campaign, having crashed out early in the DFB-Pokal and also lost the league title to Xabi Alonso’s Bayern Munich.
At the commencement of the campaign, they also lost the German Super Cup title to RB Leipzig.
Kane is not perturbed by that, as he has insisted that his first season with the Bavarian giants will not be measured by trophies.
Harry Kane said: “I’m here for many years. It’s not just a one-off year I’ve come for. The expectation at the start of the year was to win trophies.
However, the 30-year-old acknowledges their frailties this campaign but indicated their focus on winning the Champions League which would crown their season.
“It hasn’t gone our way in the Bundesliga or the cup, but the Champions League is the biggest one of all”, he said.
“If we can somehow get our hands on that then it would be an amazing season.”
