Gareth Bale is not needed at Real Madrid for sure as the manager of the club, Zinedine Zidane has taken his hatred of the Welshman to a new height. The French tactician has dropped Bale from his 22-man squad which will execute their last game for the Spanish La Liga season tonight.

Real Madrid will visit Leganés at 20:00 tonight. The match will take place at Leganés’ Butarque stadium. As least expected, Gareth Bale will not be on the pitch nor on the bench despite not being injured.

Since Real Madrid were confirmed champions of the Spanish La Liga in their midweek game against Villarreal on Thursday night, most pundits thought Zinedine Zidane will give the likes of Bale the opportunity to show the world that he has not gotten so bad on the pitch. To the dismay of most football fans, that would not happen again this season.

Though no official statement has been released to explain why Bale was left out of Zidane’s 22-man squad for tonight’s match, the reason for the decision might not be too far from his antics in recent times which most people have described as a slap on Real Madrid‘s dignity.

This is how unwanted Gareth Bale is at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has only managed 16 appearances in Spanish La Liga this season. He has not played in the last two games despite being among the players listed on the substitution sheet.

He has only managed to play two matches out of the 10 matches Real Madrid had played since the Spanish La Liga returned from the coronavirus break in June.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star could not stomach the fact that he was featured just 16 times (mostly as a substitute) in 37 La Liga matches, and decided to employ some antics when he ended up as an unused substitute in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Alaves over a week ago.

When the team won Villarreal 2-1 on Thursday to win their 34th Spanish La Liga title, he was seen trying not to get involved with the celebration. This brought about different comical comments about the club which apparently did not go down well with the club’s hierarchy. Hence, his exclusion from the first team list for tonight’s match.

Former Chelsea star, Eden Hazard was also left out of the team despite not suffering any confirmed injury. As at the time of publishing this report, Zinedine Zidane was yet to make an official statement over his decision to exclude two of the club’s most expensive signings from his 22-man squad.

If Real Madrid win tonight’s match against Leganés, they will finish the Spanish La Liga 2019-2020 season as champions with 89 points in 38 games. It means that Real Madrid only lost 3 games, drew 8 and won 26 games throughout the season.
