Hundreds of football fans have reacted to the news report that Odion Ighalo’s parent club Shanghai Shenhua is willing to extend his contract which is expected to expire by December 2022. The new two years contract is expected to pay the Nigerian striker about £400k a week to return to the club when his loan spell expires in Old Trafford in May 2020.
Meanwhile, the silver tint, if any, is that Manchester United is expected to reciprocate Odion Ighalo’s outstanding performance with a contract extension later in May 2020 when his loan deal with the club expires.
Odion Ighalo is struck into a moment of the most confusing dilemma, he is anxiously expecting an extension from Manchester United the club of his dream even before he became a professional player. Ighalo revealed that Manchester United has always been his dream club right from when he knew football. Now that his parent club has decided to extend his stay in the Chinese League till 2024 with a whopping and mouthwatering sum of £400k a week, Ighalo will have to make the most difficult choice of his career.
Become richer or play among stars and become more famous
Ighalo can decide to become richer with £400k per week or he can choose to remain in Old Trafford if the English club decides to offer him a contract too. Though it is certain that Manchester United can not offer the same amount his parent club is willing to offer the Nigerian star man. However, he will be living the moment he has always dreamed of while he receives lesser wages. His current pay in Manchester United is about £100k a week.
Reasonably, between being rich or being famous, the Nigerian star has a choice to make.
