Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun has put out a statement bidding farewell to Stade de Reims as his remarkable loan spell with the club comes to an end.
Balogun scored 22 goals and provided 3 assists in 39 appearances for The Red and Whites in arguably his best season so far in his career.
He hugged the headlines for many parts of the season being the sole provider of goals for Reims.
The 21-year-old is now in line to return to Arsenal when his loan spell in France ends on the 30th of June 2023.
Before returning back to Arsenal, Folarin Balogun would first travel to North America to represent the United States Of America.
Following his impressive strides this campaign, he was handed his first invitation to the national team.
Balogun switched allegiance from England to the United States Of America in May after an approval by FIFA.
The American of Nigerian descent was born in New York but represented England at several cadet levels before he decided to make that switch.
Ahead of his possible debut in the Gold Cup against Jamaica, Folarin Balogun sent out his goodbye message to Reims.
The forward took to social media to state: “Merci. Never easy to say goodbye, but we’ve arrived at the inevitable destination.
Writing about the support he has received from the club, Balogun wrote:
“Last summer I had the opportunity to join was welcomed with open arms from day-one! The support I’ve received from you all through-out my loan spell has been incredible and heartwarming.
“I leave hoping I was able to repay the love, trust and belief you guy’s put in me.
He afterwards completed his statement appreciating Reims for all they did for him and how he had an unforgettable time with the club.
The Arsenal man added: “This will forever be an unforgettable chapter for me and my family. Thank you for everything! Balo.”
Folarin Balogun is eyeing a move away from Arsenal
His next chapter in the round leather game is unknown as Folarin Balogun is reportedly pushing for a move away from the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta has also seemingly not given assurances to the starlet regarding a possible chance of regular first team football.
The transfer window is still a long way from over and several clubs are reportedly interested in securing his services.
Napoli have supposedly penned down Folarin Balogun as a possible acquisition in the summer if Victor Osimhen exits the side.
AC Milan are also said to be interested in getting his signature with the need for a striker top on their bucket list for the summer transfer window.
Manchester United, Newcastle United and Paris Saint Germain have also been reported to be eyeing the Nigerian.
Folarin Balogun’s goals assisted Reims to an 11th placed finish in the Ligue 1, one position better than the previous season.
