After the World Cup break, Erling Haaland has returned to his goal-scoring magic in the Premier League against Wolves.
Manchester City saw off Wolves in the Premier League matchday 20 to pile up the pressure on title-chasing Arsenal.
Erling Haaland picked up his magic wand, netting his fourth hat-trick of the season to smash last season’s golden boot record held by Mohamed Salah and Heung-Min Son of Tottenham.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Tottenham’s Heung-min Son both netted 23 times last term and shared the award.
And after just 20 games, Haaland has topped last season’s winning tally netting his 25th in the Premier League.
In the game against Wolves, Erling Haaland got Manchester City underway to victory after converting a Kevin De Bruyne pass to open the scoring for the home side at Etihad.
The 22-year-old then made it a brace from the penalty spot before adding a third, slotting into an empty net after a howler from Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Since he joined the Etihad club from Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland has now netted four good hat-tricks to add to his intimidating goal-scoring record.
As well as Wolves, Haaland has also scored hat-tricks against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United
On 27 August 2022, Erling Haaland dragged City off a first-half scare that saw them slip by two goals to Crystal Palace.
An own goal by John Stones in the 4th minute put Crystal Palace in the lead before Anderson doubled the lead for the away side.
Manchester City surprisingly fell below their visitors with a subpar performance in the first half with Crystal Palace, taking a two-goal lead into the first-half break.
City awoke from their slumber in the second half with Silva opening the scoring for the home side in the 53rd minute. Haaland then took over from there, scoring a quick succession of goals in the 62nd, 70th, and 81st minutes to record his first Premier League hat-trick and helped Manchester secure a 4-2 comeback win over Patrick Vieira’s boys.
A few days later on August 31, 2022, Haaland secured his second Premier League hat-trick in the game against Nottingham Forest at Etihad.
The former Salzburg player scored a quick succession of goals again in the 12th, 23rd, and 38th minute before Cancelo struck in the 50th minute, and Julian Alvarez bagged a brace in the 65th and 87th minute as City crushed Nottingham Forest 6-0.
Haaland’s third Premier League hat-trick came against city rivals Manchester United at Etihad on October 2, 2022.
Erling Haaland scored in the 34th, 37th, and 64th minute to bag his third hat-trick and helped City secure a resounding 6-3 win over Manchester United.
The hat-trick against Wolves is his fourth hat trick adding up his Premier League tally to 25 goals this season after 20 games.
He has now become the quickest player to reach the four-hat-trick milestone in Premier League history – a record which was held by Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, but it took him 65 games.
Erling Haaland will now be eyeing to pull down the record held only by Newcastle hero Alan Shearer has scored three in a match more often in one season than Haaland.

Erling Haaland will also have his eyes set on breaking another record held by Salah.
The Egyptian netted the most goals in a 38-game campaign in the 2017/18 season, when he found the back of the net 32 times for Liverpool.
Haaland finds himself within seven of that target with another 18 fixtures to play.
