Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag walked out of Bournemouth’s post-match press conference after being grilled about a possible unwanted record Manchester United will set if they finish in seventh place in the Premier League this season.

United scraped to a draw against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium, thanks to a brace from Bruno Fernandes.

Solanke was on target for the Cherries, scoring 16 minutes into the game to give them the lead.

Bruno Fernandes canceled out the lead a minute after the half-hour but the resilient Andoni Iraola-led side fought back to score again and retake the lead.

It would take United a spot-kick in the second half to find the leveler again after Smith mistakenly handled Kobbie Mainoo’s effort inside Bournemouth’s box.

Bruno Fernandes converted the spot-kick to tie the scores at 2-2 before the final whistle.

The draw has seen Manchester United drop from sixth place on the table to seventh place, 10 points behind Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in 5th and 4th, respectively.

During the post-match press conference, a journalist asked Erik ten Hag whether he is worried United would finish in their worst league position (7th) at the end of the season since 2014.

At the instance of the question, ten Hag was rattled, and abruptly ended the press conference by walking out of the room angrily.

“I don’t take comment, take that question. That is not important for this moment,” an unnerved ten Hag said as he stormed out of the press conference room.

Manchester United are seventh on the Premier League table with 50 points, the same number of points as sixth-placed team Newcastle United, who boasts of a superior goal difference following a 4-0 thumping victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The last time Manchester United finished in the 7th place in the Premier League table was in 2014. The Red Devils are not likely to make the Champions League spot as things stand with Erik ten Hag facing an uncertain future at the club.

However, the Dutch will hope to weather the pressure, and return the team to winning ways when they take on Coventry City in the FA Cup semifinal in their next game.
