England will face the Copa America Femenina champions Brazil in the women’s Finalissima, following their Euro 2022 triumph against Germany.

The Lionesses defeated Germany on Sunday’s final 2-1 after extra time, with Chloe Kelly grabbing a dramatic win in the additional period after 90 minutes.

When will the match take place?

For the first time, the women’s European and South American champions will now face off in a showpiece event. As an added reward, England will be involved in the inaugural women’s ‘Finalissima’ match later this year.

The match is set to be played in Europe, but governing bodies UEFA and CONMEBOL are yet to announce a date or venue.

It is noteworthy to express that this is the fourth consecutive triumph for the Brazilian females to rule the South American continent and the eighth time they are lifting the continental trophy.


In their quest for the Copa America Femenina, Brazil were exemplary to net 20 goals in six games without conceding any goal in the process, including the win against Colombia.
