Eden Hazard, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has pledged to establish himself in the upcoming La Liga season.

With only 66 games and six goals since moving to Madrid from Chelsea three years ago, Hazard has had a dreadful time.

The Belgian international, who is now healthy, claimed that this campaign, his “sole ambition” is catching up with Madrid.

“I want to show people that I can play in this club”, Hazard told ESPN.

“It’s been a few seasons that I was not playing that much, so for me … I just want to show what I can do on the pitch — that’s my only target.”

One of the greatest Belgian footballers of all time is considered to be Hazard. His previous coach, Claude Puel, referred to him as “little Messi” in a dig at the former Barcelona star because of his quickness, finishing ability, and possession-keeping skills.

Later, former Marseille manager and media personality Rolland Courbis mirrored Puel’s comments when he said, “At times, it appears to me like Lionel Messi on the right-hand side.”

Remember that following Madrid’s victory over Liverpool in the 2022 UEFA Champions League final, amid the celebrations, Hazard grabbed the microphone and promised Real Madrid supporters that the following season would be different.

‘Madridistas, I’ve been here for three years with many injuries, with many problems,’ Hazard said to the adoring Real Madrid fans as he took the microphone at the parade. ‘But next year, I’m going to give it all to you’.

According to accounts in Spain, as he finished speaking, he was surrounded by his colleagues, showing that he is well-liked and respected in the locker room.

Eden Hazard

Eden Michael Hazard (born 7 January 1991) is a Belgian professional football player who captains the Belgium national team in addition to playing as a winger or attacking midfielder for the Spanish club Real Madrid.

One of the best players of his time, Hazard is renowned for his inventiveness, dribbling, passing, and vision.

Hazard started his career in Belgium playing for regional youth clubs. He is the son of two former football players.

He relocated to France in 2005, where he signed with Lille of Ligue 1 to start his senior career. After spending two years in the club’s youth system, Hazard made his professional debut in November 2007 at the age of 16.

Under manager Rudi Garcia, he was an essential member of the Lille team. He became the first non-French player to win the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year title in his first full season, and the following year he made history by being the first player to earn the honor again.

He was a member of the Lille squad that won the league and cup double in the 2010–11 campaign, and as a result of his efforts, he was awarded the Ligue 1 Player of the Year, becoming the competition’s youngest winner.

Eden Hazard’s Brother

Thorgan Ganael Francis Hazard, a professional football player from Belgium who now plays as an offensive midfielder and winger for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Belgian national team, was born on March 29, 1993. He is Kylian Hazard’s older brother and Eden’s younger brother.

He previously participated in the Belgian national junior team system at every level before receiving his first senior international cap in May 2013 against the United States. He was a member of the third-place Belgian team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

What happened to Hazard?

Several things, including injuries and the rise of newer talents, have kept Hazard from living up to expectations at Real Madrid. But take into account the price of his daring playing style and the toll it has taken on his career.

To become a legend, Hazard moved to Real Madrid, but his body let him down. Since he was a young child, he had imagined this move.

Upon his arrival in Spain, much was made—and not in a good way—of his weight, possibly in part because he had been celebrating this pivotal decision in his professional life.

However, Hazard had already had a few summers of fun. The actual issue was the alarming rate at which his injuries were suddenly piling up.

He missed a total of 21 games due to injury throughout his seven outstanding seasons at Chelsea, where he won two Premier League championships, a League Cup, an FA Cup, and two UEFA Europa Leagues.

He had already missed 61 games by the end of 2021, which was already into his third season with Real Madrid. Unsurprisingly, this long list of illnesses has negatively impacted his ability to accelerate.

At Chelsea, he scored about once every three games; at Madrid, it is now only once every ten. But looking past statistics, there is the devastating proof that can be seen with the unaided eye.

Hazard used to be Leo Messi’s closest competitor when it came to his captivating ability to glide past defenders at breakneck speed. But that item has significantly lost value since then.

Hazard Celebrating Chelsea

After Chelsea eliminated Real Madrid in the 2020-2021 Champions League campaign, Eden Hazard was seen smiling and laughing with Chelsea players, which greatly incensed Real Madrid fans.

The 31-year-old’s lack of contribution was a high point of his tragic slide in Spain as Chelsea advanced to the Champions League with a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Hazard made his first trip back to west London since he left the team in 2019 to join Real, but he was ineffective and Zinedine Zidane took him off in the 88th minute as they lost the second leg 2-0.

After the game, Chelsea was ecstatic while Real Madrid experienced other feelings. However, Hazard was seen giggling and fooling around with Edouard Mendy and Kurt Zouma of the Blues.

Eden Hazard to Chelsea

Several recent reports claimed that Hazard and Chelsea were in talks for a season-long loan for the next 2022–23 season due to his underwhelming performances in Spain.

However, head coach Carlo Ancelotti emphasized that the Belgian wouldn’t be departing Santiago Bernabeu since he still has to justify his signing.
