Last month, It was understood that SC Freiburg were also looking to sign him as part of their attacking reinforcement, but FC Koln seems to be leading the race right now.

The German club are in the transfer market this summer and are looking to sign a center forward. Steffen Tigges has been mentioned amongst the board members and they are ready to make a bid for him this summer.

The 22-year-old striker who was born in Osnabruck is now ready to leave Borussia Dortmund to further his career.

The Billy Goats are now ready to make a move for him this summer as they are aware of his potential and believe he is ready for the big stage.

Note that Steffen Tigges suffered a nasty knee injury that prevented him from playing since March. He is still on the sidelines as he looks to recover from his injury as soon as possible.

However, before the 22-year-old got injured, he managed to score 3 goals in 9 appearances for the Yellow Submarines. He has also appeared for the German U-20 side on four different occasions.

The Dortmund U-23 youngster has already agreed personal terms with FC Koln which means that the German club will complete his signing very soon. A fee of around €3million has been agreed upon by both parties to complete the transfer.

Koln’s head coach Steffen Baumgart has chosen to sign the Dortmund forward instead of Leverkusen striker Joel Pohjanpalo, as he was considered a more viable target with very good potential to develop into a key player shortly.

Steffen Tigges will be looking to impress his head coach in the new Bundesliga season.

He is currently valued at €1.50m according to the Transfermarkt. Steffen Tigges is the twin brother of Leon Tigges who plays for SV Rödinghausen.
