Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea has agreed to further his contract with the English club.
De Gea’s current deal expires in June and his future has been dangling in the balance following a number of errors this campaign.
Anyway, based on reports from the Telegraph, the Spaniard and Manchester United have arrived at an agreement to further his stay at the Manchester based club.
The present wage of David De Gea which is £375,000-per-week will be heavily reviewed and reduced by an amount as big as £175k-a-week.
However, his new contractual agreement includes bonuses for matches played as well as performance add-ons.
The three-time Sir Matt Busby Player Of The Year Award holder is now waiting on Manchester United to put pen-to-paper on the agreement before proceeding to make a formal announcement.
David De Gea received several bashing following his error on Sunday which gave West Ham a 1-0 win over Manchester United at the London Stadium.
The error against West Ham United comes weeks after he had an hand in his side’s elimination from the UEFA Europa League.
To many, De Gea was culpable for two of the three goals Manchester United conceded in their quarter-final loss to the Spanish side which caused their exit from the Europa League.
Away from that, David De Gea leads the way in the race for the golden glove in the 2022/23 Premier League season as he has amassed the most clean sheets in the league this campaign.

De Gea, 32, who was brought in as a successor to Edwin Van Der Sar, who was about to retire from football has however received support from his manager reaffirming his desire of keeping the Spaniard.
Erik Ten Hag stated: “We have the most clean sheets in the Premier League and we wouldn’t be in this position without him.
“Mistakes happen but he has my full belief and I have no concerns about him. We want him to stay and extend his contract.”
However, there is no certainty that he would remain Manchester United’s number one next season.
David De Gea is expected to be in goal for Manchester United’s next match which is an home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Spaniard has made the 10th-most appearances for Manchester United and he leads the way when it comes to cleasheets for the club with 188 clean sheets for the English giants.
David De Gea was brought in by Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson and he has found a way to stake a starting shirt with all managers at the club, from David Moyes to Luis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and presently Erik Ten Hag.
