    Cristiano Ronaldo assisted Al Nassr to keep track of Al Ittihad in the race for the Saudi Pro League title.

    Ronaldo guided his side to a stunning comeback against Al Shabab with a superb curler from outside the box to give his side a 3-2 win over their opposition.

    Al Nassr were two goals behind Al Shabab after 40 minutes after goals from Guanca put his side in sight of victory.

    However, Talisca halved the deficit in the 44th minute before second half goals from Ghareeb and Ronaldo on the 51st and 59th minute gave Al Nassr the victory.

    Al Ittihad defeated bottom placed Al Batin by 1-0 in their own encounter on Tuesday courtsey of a goal scored by Romarinho in the 9th minute.

    The battle for the Saudi Pro League appears like it would go down to the wire with Al Shabab only 3 points ahead of Al Nassr with 2 games remaining in the season.

    Cristiano Ronaldo was in beast mood on Tuesday night as he rolled back the years to produce a magnificent strike from outside the box which went past Seung-Gyu Kim in goal for the away side.

    The Portuguese got the ball midway through the Al Shabab half before he executed a swift footwork which left two opposition players for dead.

    He afterwards studied the angle of the goal and placed an irresistible shot from the edge of the box.

    The stadium was in delirium following the strike as fans celebrated the comeback and the amazing finishing that accompanied it.

    The 38-year-old did the Sujud, which is simply an act of low bowing or prostrating to Allah facing the qiblah.

    Following the win, Ronaldo took to Twitter to praise his teammates for their camaraderie in winning the encounter against 3-placed Al-Shabab.

    The former Juventus attacker also appreciated Al Nassr supporters for their support during the game.

    He tweeted: “Great team spirit to come back and win it. Big thank you to the fans that stood with us when we most needed!”

    In an Interview with Saudi Arabian television channel SSC Sports after the game, Cristiano Ronaldo also expressed how happy he was with the comeback.

    He said: “So happy that the team did it, Fantastic game. To defeat the opponents after going down 2-0 is very, very difficult, but we believed until the end and we scored three goals. 

    “So, congratulations to the whole team and the support was amazing today. We are very happy.”

    The Portugal International is 5th on the goal scorers chart having scored 14 goals and provided 2 assists for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League despite only joining the side in January.

    Dinko Jelicic’s side face Al-Ettifaq on Saturday as they aim to usurp Al Ittihad who sit at the summit of the Pro League.
