Cristiano Ronaldo looked beyond repairs when he broke down in tears after Al-Nassr lost the Saudi Arabia King Cup to Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo was heartbroken at the final whistle as his side fell short at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. 

Cristiano Ronaldo put his hands over his eyes, was visibly upset about the loss, and had to be consoled by the backroom staff of the team.

Despite being consoled by the backroom staff, Cristiano Ronaldo continued to sob as he ended his first full season in the Middle East without a single trophy.

The Al-Hilal team defeated Al-Nassr 5-4 via a penalty shootout after the Kings Cup Champions match ended 1-1 at full time. 

In the match, three different players were dismissed before the end of the 90th minute. Al-Nassr’s loss came four days after they lost the Saudi Arabia Pro League to Al-Hilal.

The Al-Nassr team finished second on the table and were 14 points behind the champions Al-Hilal.

How Al Hilal Defeated Al-Nassr in the Saudi Arabia Kings Cup

The reigning champions of the Saudi Arabia Pro League, Al-Hilal, went ahead in the 7th minute of the game through former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

A few minutes after Al-Nassr conceded, a Cristiano Ronaldo attempt got saved by Al-Hilal goalkeeper Bono. Things went bad for Al-Nassr after their goalkeeper, David Ospina, was sent off in the second half.

Ayman Yahya scored the equaliser for Al-Nassr in the 88th minute of the game, with the Al-Nassr fans having hopes of winning the game against their rival Al-Hilal.

Things got better for Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates after Al-Hilal defender Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off. Both teams failed to find a breakthrough in extra time.

Former Wolves midfielders Ruben Neves and Saud Abdulhamid missed the penalty for Al-Hilal. But Al-Nassr players Telles, Ali Al Hassan, and Meshari Al Nemer all failed to convert, which made Al-Hilal claim the win.
