Negotiation regarding the transfer of Mason Mount appear to be unending as Chelsea have rejected a £55 million bid from Manchester United for the Englishman.
The West London side have responded with a counter-proposal of £58 million in addition to £7 million in bonuses.
Chelsea have also offered to hold face-to-face negotiation to find a middle ground with Manchester United in the interest of all parties involved.
The offer tabled by the Red Devils for Mason Mount included a £50 million guaranteed payment and £5 million in add-ons.
Manchester United are not willing to pay an additional amount to land Mason Mount
United’s hierarchy are very unwilling to part with an additional amount for Mount, and there is a possibility that this could be their final offer.
However, some reports suggest that Erik Ten Hag’s side are open to negotiating if they get a positive feedback from Chelsea.
Manchester United feel their third bid is more than suitable for a player like Mount, who is in the final year of his contract.
It’s left to be seen if they intend to hold a face-to-face meeting with Chelsea in order to get to a positive resolution.
Even though United might not want to increase their amount offered for Mason Mount, they may be willing to discuss with the Blue’s hierarchy on details and structure of the deal.
Mount has been penned down as one of Erik Ten Hag’s priority targets for the summer and the Englishman is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Reports indicate that there are other top teams interested in him and they are ready to send in a bid for the 24-year-old if he doesn’t join the Red Devils.
Mason Mount can pen a pre-contract agreement with a club outside England in January, a situation that Chelsea fully understands.

The academy graduate has scored 33 goals and provided 37 assists in 195 appearances for Chelsea.
