The transfer move of Mason Mount to Manchester United appears to have taken a new twist as the Englishman has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford side.

Mason Mount has been linked with a move away from Chelsea following his refusal to further his current deal which comes to an end in 2024.

Based on reports from The Telegraph, the 24-year-old is now likely to switch from London to Manchester during the summer.

Same reports indicate that conversations between Mason Mount and Manchester United have advanced positively since the Red Devils thumped Chelsea by 4-1 at Old Trafford last Thursday.

The Chelsea academy graduate has his sights set for a move away from Stamford Bridge and the club won’t obstruct his desire.

The English side are trying everything possible to milk a substantial amount in order not to risk losing him for free in 2024.

Mason Mount has also been linked with a move to Arsenal alongside Liverpool but it looks like Manchester United currently lead the race for his signature.

Chelsea are set to begin a process of rebuilding the squad and it would bring to the fore a massive exodus of players away from the club.

Mauricio Pochettino has his eyes fixated on the task at hand and he wants to get down to work quickly and as fast as possible.

Mateo Kovacic is another player who could be exiting Chelsea alongside Mount as Manchester City appears to be interested in signing the Croatian.

Todd Boehly is also not perturbed about selling one of his best assets in midfield as he also enters the last year of his deal with the English side.

The proposed exit of Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic would result in the need for a midfielder and as such, Chelsea have penciled down Sporting Lisbon Manuel Ugarte.

Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag sees Mason Mount as a priority acquisition for the summer alongside a poacher number 9.

Harry Kane is reported to be the preferred choice for the attacking department although Daniel Levy might make it very tough to get the English International’e signature.

The Blues have pegged their asking price for Mount at £80 million but Manchester United believe they would get him for a price cheaper than that.

Mason Mount was comforted by teammate Ben Chilwell during the lap of honor last Sunday in their final game of the season.

The 24-year-old appeared to be in an emotional state as he clapped for his supporters at Stamford Bridge.

His last game for Chelsea was on the 18th of April where he featured for only 13 minutes in the 2-0 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg.

He suffered a pelvic injury and he has been out of action since then, however, that hasn’t deterred Manchester United from trying to sign him.
