They will compete against former player and manager Frank Lampard in that first game.

Afterward, Chelsea will play host to Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby the following weekend.

Thomas Tuchel’s team will compete for the Premier League title this season after finishing 3rd last season.

The 2021/22 season saw Chelsea make an early push for the title but eventually lost steam. The penalties placed on the club and owner Roman Abramovich affected Tuchel’s team as well.

Note that the 2022-2023 season will be Chelsea’s first season under the new ownership of Todd Boehly who purchased the club from Roman Abramovich a few months ago.

The Blues are yet to make a summer signing but some of their players have left the team. However, they are linked with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling who could be a replacement for Romelu Lukaku who joined Inter Milan on a loan deal.

Chelsea are also interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus as they look to fill the void left by Rudiger after he moved to Real Madrid this summer.

Also, the North London club has shown interest in Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski but the Poland captain is expected to join Barcelona.
