Nathan Ake was born in the Netherlands on February 18th, 1995, he moved to England at the age of 16. He started his football career as a youth player for ADO Den Haag in 2003, he moved to Feyenoord in 2007 to 2012 when he moved to Chelsea. In 2012, Ake made his debut appearance for Chelsea in a Premier League game against Norwich City.

Nathan Ake had challenges in making the starting eleven for Chelsea for years, in 2015, he agreed to a loan deal to switch to Reading where he could find more playing time. From Reading, he went to Watford in 2016 and then Bournemouth Fc all on a loan deal. He, however, met luck at the Dean Court after his loan deal expired, he was offered a permanent contract with after Bournemouth paid £20 million to Chelsea. This made Ake the most expensive Bournemouth player at that time.
