    On Saturday, December 4, 2021, Bayern Munich will visit Borussia Dortmund to play a very important German Bundesliga match which could determine the leaders of the league table.

    Though the game will be played by more than 22 players, the attention of most football enthusiasts will be on the two biggest stars in the league – Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich and Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund.

    In the last two seasons, especially from the 2020-2021 season to this season, Lewandowski and Haaland have been the most prominent names on the lips of most followers of German Bundesliga.

    The two strikers are regarded as two of the hottest strikers in the world due to the number of goals they have been scoring season in and season out.

    For instance, during the 2020-2021 season, Lewandowski who is the reigning best striker in the world scored a whopping 48 goals and provided 13 assists. He won the European Golden Boot award for the first time in his career.

    Aside from that, he became a Ballon d’Or nominee for his performance for Bayern Munich. He was so good that he ended as the second-best behind the winner of the 2021 Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi.

    Recent reports claimed that the organizer of the Ballon d’Or, France Football, is considering naming Lewandowski the winner of the 2020 Ballon d’Or even though the award was canceled due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

    Recall that the 33-year-old Polish striker was said to be the favorite to win the 2020 Ballon d’Or. Hence, when it was announced that the award had been canceled, many believed that he was robbed of the award.

    As for Erling Haaland, the 21-year-old Norwegian striker has been unstoppable since he joined Dortmund. Last season, he competed with Lewandowski until the season ended.

    At the end of the season, the Norway international scored 41 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions. His performance won him the 2020 Golden Boy award.

    So far this season, Erling Haaland has scored 14 goals and provided 8 assists in 11 games in all competitions.

    As for Lewandowski, the Poland international has scored 25 goals and provided 4 assists in 20 games in all competitions.

    Hence, the Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich German Bundesliga game on Saturday might be decided by either Robert Lewandowski or Erling Haaland.

    Currently, Bayern Munich are sitting on top of the league table with 31 points in 13 games. While Borussia Dortmund are occupying the second spot with 30 points in 13 games.

    As it stands, if Borussia Dortmund beat Bayern, Dortmund will lead the league table with two points gap. But if Bayern beat Dortmund, they will retain leadership of the table with 4 points gap from Dortmund.
