Turkish club, Galatasaray seems to have gotten an advantage over their league rivals, Besiktas as the Nigerian star player, Henry Onyekuru joined training on Saturday, ahead of today’s Super Lig clash. The 22-year-old player could not make it training on Wednesday after he suffered some sort of discomfort in his left lower back muscle which he had to undergo a medical examination. The medical team posed that the Nigerian star is fit to feature in the Super Lig match on Sunday 15th of March against long-term rivals Besiktas.

Galatasaray who is currently on the third spot in the league table with about 49 points will take on Besiktas who is seated on the sixth position with 43 points in the league competition on today. Henry Onyekuru is no doubt one of the promising young footballers in the Turkish league, his presence on the field will no doubt give Galatasaray an edge over their opponent.

Henry Onyekuru joined Galatasaray in 2020 with a loan deal from Monaco where he had difficulties in getting enough playing time. He joined Galatasaray on a loan deal and he has appeared in about four games for the Turkish and has scored one goal. The 22-year-old striker was part of the Nigerian squad that went Egypt in 2019 for the African Cup of Nation, AFCON. He played in the semi-final when Nigeria lost to Algeria after Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez scored a free-kick from a close yard at the injury minute shattering the hope of the Nigerian team at the AFCON 2019.

While many other top leagues in Europe have been affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus, it is funnily amazing how the Turkish League has made the country immune against the virus, the league seems not bothered about the recent health emergency in the world. The Turkish League is one of the few leagues that has not been threatened by the snare of the virus.
