Bologna manager Thiago Motta has emerged as a top favorite to replace Erik ten Hag as the new Man United manager, according to reports.
The 41-year-old is among the fast-rising young European managers doing a great job with their respective clubs. Motta had a heroic playing career frequenting some of the top clubs in Europe and has followed up the epic career with an equal magical spell in the dugout as manager.
The former Italy international began his coaching career with PSG U19 after calling time on his playing career in 2018.
After his spell with PSG U19, Motta joined Genoa and Spezia as manager before taking up Bologna job in 2022. After an average first season with the club, the former Barcelona midfielder has impressed in his second season. He is en route to qualifying Bologna for their first Champions League.
His standout campaign with Bologna has made him a top target for bigger European outfits. According to Italy outlet, Gazzetta dello Sport, Thiago Motta has attracted interest from Manchester United and Juventus.
His Bologna contract is set to expire in the summer and United consider the young manager as a potential option should the club decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag in the summer.
