Kane made his first appearance for Tottenham in 2011 in a Europa League clash against Hearts and was struggling to break into Tottenham’s lineup at that time.

He was sent on loan spells to different clubs in the lower division as he tried to break into the club’s first team.

Kane was loaned to Leyton Orient in 2011, Millwall in 2012, Norwich City from 2012 to 2013, and Leicester City in 2013.

After his last loan spell with Leicester City, former Tottenham manager, Tim Sherwood, has been credited as the manager who discovered Harry Kane, giving him a chance in 2014. Since then, Kane had gone on to establish himself as Tottenham’s best player ever, cementing his place as a top striker for the club under different managers.

In an emotion-laddened statement, the 30-year-old told Tottenham fans he has left the club, thanking them for the support, including the coaching crew and the club’s staff.

“Hi everyone, I wanted to be the first to tell you Tottenham fans that I will be leaving the club today”, he said.

“Obviously a lot of emotions going through me right now, sad to be leaving the club I’ve spent nearly 20 years of my life at from an 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man.”

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy breaks silence on why Harry Kane left the club

As Bayern Munich confirmed the signing of Harry Kane, Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, broke his silence on why Harry Kane left the club.

In a club statement confirming the exit of Harry Kane, Daniel Levy revealed Tottenham Hotspur has approached Kane and his representatives for a long time trying to have him sign a new contract.

Levy added Tottenham made several attempts and presented various contract options for Kane but the England forward was clear on his decision not to sign a new contract as he wanted a new challenge.

“The Club can confirm the permanent transfer of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich…”

“We sought over a long period of time to engage Harry and his representatives in several forms of contract extension, both short and long term. Harry was clear, however, that he wanted a fresh challenge and would not be signing a new contract this summer. We have reluctantly, therefore, agreed to his transfer…

“Harry’s achievements and records say everything about the player, and throughout his 19 years at the Club, Harry has been a model professional, on and off the pitch and an inspiration for young players who dream of following in his footsteps.

“I should like to thank Harry for everything he’s done for us, all the memories, all the records – we wish him and his family all the best for the future. It goes without saying, he’s always welcome back. He’s a much loved and valued member of the Spurs family, forever in our history.”

Futballnews understands Daniel Levy did not want Harry Kane to leave the club. However, he could not continue holding on to the striker as the club risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Kane will now hope to add trophies to his epic career after decades of a sensational performance for Spurs without trophies.

He scored 30 goals for Tottenham last term but the team ended up losing out on all European spots on the Premier League table last summer.

His Bayern Munich move will see him return to Champions League and also increase his chance of ending his trophy deadlock.

There are projections he may likely win his first trophy with Bayern Munich when the club takes on RB Leipzig in German Super Cup before the 2023/24 season kicks off.
