Bayern Munich are considering selling Sadio Mane in the summer as he fails to meet Thomas Tuchel’s expectations.
Aside from his physique that is a major issue for Tuchel, the recent fight with teammate Leroy Sane is also a contributing factor.
Sadio Mane punched his teammate Leroy Sane following Bayern’s heavy loss to Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Reports by German News Outlet BILD claimed that the shocking incident happened in Bayern Munich’s changing room after the match ended.
The fight was sparked by Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane’s on-field altercation in the closing minutes of the the game.
Mane came on as a substitute for Jamal Musiala in the 69th minute and had a communication breakdown with Sane shortly in the match.
Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane later had a physical encounter in the dressing room with the former Liverpool player objecting how Sane spoke to him.
The German paper BILD claims that Mane ‘suddenly’ hit Sane in the face which further led to a physical brawl between them.
The former Southampton and Liverpool forward allegedly elbowed the former Man City winger on the lip.
Their other teammates had to interfere to cool things down and split the two as they got already physical.
Recall we talked about the fight and also how Leroy Sane had been hiding his injured lip he sustained from the fight last week.
Sadio Mane have had a hard time settling down in Bayern Munich since his move and this came also at a bad timing for the Senegalese.
We reported last week that Mane did apologize to the team in training but he was suspended as Bayern faced Hoffenheim.
It is unclear what further punishment the Senegal international will face, but according to Journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga giants are considering offloading Sadio Mane this summer, just one year after they signed him.
Plettenberg tweeted: “News #Mane: He has already arrived the training center this morning. He was smiling. Bosses have discussed several possible consequences yesterday: fine, suspension, even separation. Team training today at 11 am. His apology in front of the team is expected today.”
He also went further to confirmed that Mane was reportedly fined over €300k in regards to his misconduct.
Sadio Mane at Bayern Munich
Sadio Mane joined Bayern Munich from Liverpool for a deal worth £35 million last summer after 6 years at Anfield.
he started strong for the German team as he managed to get 11 goals and four assists by mid-November just months after he moved.
His form suffered a setback and had to undergo a surgery after suffering a tendon injury to his right fibula, which prevented him from competing in the World Cup in Qatar.
He returned from injury last month after he spent three months on the sidelines and is yet to score but has assisted since then.
Mane, 31, could find himself out of the Allianz Arena in the summer after just 12 months with the team as Bayern are running out of patience.
Mane will definitely be a target for top European teams in the summer but his recent show of behavior will be a thing of consideration for suitors.
