Barcelona’s wage issue and the registration of new players have become a limiting factor to offloading underperforming players. The club has done well in this transfer window, with them becoming the club that has spent the most in Europe, more than Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

The club was once declared to be in serious debt, but after signing a deal with Spotify, their pockets increased and they signed more players.

However, Braithwaite and Frenkie De Jong are being owed wages by Barcelona, but if they fail to offload them, those new players will never participate in any of the competitions.

Braithwaite is no longer needed at the club with the presence of Lewandoski and Aubameyang on the team. Xavi has informed him he should leave, but he seems very reluctant to do so.

Different clubs don’t want to be in any panic situation to sign him. If he fails to leave, Lewandoski, Kounde, and Kessie will not play for Barcelona.

On the other hand, De Jong does not want to leave Barcelona because the club is presently owing him a whopping amount of £17 million. Manchester United and Chelsea are in a hot race to sign the defensive midfielder.

Chelsea think they can persuade him to join because of the upcoming Champions League tournament. De Jong will surely lead the Chelsea side to success next season.

Manchester United have agreed with Barcelona since June, but Frenkie doesn’t want to play in the Europa League.

Barcelona President Laporta has made it known that De Jong is likely to stay only if he understands the current financial position of the club. The best for him is to reduce his wages or he will be forced out of the club.

It will be very hard for Manchester United to walk away from the deal because Erik Ten Hag has made him the top player needed in the team. Manchester United is ready to offer him a wage of £360,000.

De Jong sees Barcelona as a dream team but will consider the wages attached to it. His agent has met with Barcelona to see how he can solve the issue of the contract.

The player is already playing as a center-back for Barcelona, but the club has made provisions for every area on the pitch.

Barcelona are also in the transfer window to check out if Bernardo Silva will be available. If the club signs the playmaker, that will surely be the end of De Jong at Barcelona.

The agents for Depay and Pjanic are also meeting with the Barcelona board to discuss the situation. Depay may go for free to Tottenham and Pjanic has been linked with other bigger clubs in Europe.
