Aubameyang Transfer To Barcelona imminent as Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign outcast Arsenal striker, according to reports in Spain.
Xavi wants Barca to sign a striker before the transfer season closes, and the Spanish club had been in talks with Juventus about a deal for Alvaro Morata.
Barcelona, on the other hand, has initiated talks with Arsenal this week to discuss a possible transfer for Aubameyang.
Mikel Arteta has kept the striker out of the first team and he hasn’t featured for the club since he was stripped of his captaincy last month after a series of disciplinary issues.
Arsenal also left Aubameyang out of their warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
Arsenal is now willing to let Aubameyang go, but only if clubs agree to pay his entire £350,000-per-week wage.
Barcelona have agreed to loan Aubameyang till the end of the season, according to Gerard Romero, but the deal is contingent on the club being able to unload Ousmane Dembele before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Dembele, who spent time with Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund, is out of contract at the end of the season, and Barcelona have declared officially that they intend to move the winger before the transfer window ends.
‘It is apparent that the player does not want to continue and is not dedicated to our future,’ Mateu Alemany, Barca’s director of football, stated last week.
‘In that case, he and his agents have been told that they must leave immediately since we are looking for players who are fully dedicated to our vision.’ As a result, we expect to transfer him before the end of January.’
