Aston Villa signs Chambers on a permanent deal from North London side Arsenal.
The 27-year-old, who can play center defense and right back, has agreed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with Villa Park.
As Steven Gerrard restructures his squad, he joins Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Digne, and Robin Olsen.
“It’s a fantastic club and they’re at a terrific moment at the moment,” Chambers told Aston Villa’s official website.
“From the outside, everyone can tell that it’s a very exciting place to be.” Things are occurring here, and they are progressing in the correct direction.
“Joining a fantastic club was a no-brainer for me. It was the proper decision on my part. It’s a fantastic club with a huge following. I’ve played a few times at Villa Park, and it’s a fantastic stadium with fantastic fans.
“The manager performed a fantastic job at Rangers.” I’m looking forward to working with him because he’s a youthful, energetic manager.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining the club.” The club is gaining traction, and it’s an exciting time to be a part of it. When you’re in and around the building, you can definitely sense it. The enthusiasm in the room is palpable.
“I feel like I came at the right time, and I’m excited to get started and give it my all.”
Rangers have finalized the loan signing of Manchester United’s Amad Diallo.
The 19-year-old winger will join the Scottish Premiership leaders until the end of the season, a year after joining Manchester United.
Manchester United bought Diallo from Atalanta for £37.2 million and he has made nine appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.
United believe that this move will benefit his development, and Diallo is believed to be a long-term player for the Premier League team.
“I am thrilled to join Rangers until the end of the season,” Diallo said of his potential debut against Ross County.
“It’s fantastic for me at this stage of my career to have the opportunity to join such a large club that will challenge me on multiple fronts and provide me with some excellent opportunities to test myself in a variety of situations.”
“I’m excited to train with my teammates for the first time tomorrow and to meet the Ross County fans for the first time on Saturday.”
“I am incredibly thrilled to welcome Amad to our team for the rest of the season,” Giovanni van Bronckhorst said.
“He’s a player I’ve been aware of for a long time, and when the possibility to sign him arose, we jumped at the chance.”
“He’ll be a great addition to our group and create even more competition for our front players.”
Following the news that winger Ianis Hagi will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery in London, Diallo has arrived.
Amad Diallo, who is he?
Diallo was born in the Ivory Coast and moved to Italy when he was ten years old, eventually joining Atalanta in 2015.
In Atalanta’s 7-1 thumping of Udinese in 2019, the kid made his Serie A debut, becoming the club’s youngest player – at 17 years and 109 days – to score on his debut.
As a result, he traveled to Lisbon with the Atalanta squad for their Champions League quarter-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
The guy impressed so much in training that Papu Gomez compared him to Lionel Messi.
“There are defenders in the first squad who are unable to stop him at times. We must kick him out of training to stop him! Before moving to United, Atalanta’s captain remarked of Diallo, “He plays like Messi.”
Last February, Diallo made his Manchester United debut in a 4-0 Europa League win over Real Sociedad, before scoring his first goal for the club against AC Milan in the same league a few weeks later.
Arsenal agree deal to sign Matt Turner
Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to sign Matt Turner of the United States in the summer.
The Gunners are expected to pay roughly £7 million upfront to MLS side New England Revolution for the 27-year-old, with £3 million add-ons and a 10% sell-on share of a future transfer cost included.
Turner is not expected to arrive at Arsenal until the summer, allowing Bernd Leno to leave the club at that time.
Turner will take over the duty of providing challenge for current No. 1 Aaron Ramsdale, as the German has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal.
After going undrafted in 2016, Turner has had a meteoric climb in his career. After excelling on trial, the goalie eventually secured a contract with the New England Revolution, and he is now a regular USA international, having helped his side keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over El Salvador on Thursday night.
“First and foremost, I believe it’s a terrific narrative, and I hope the public is aware of Matt Turner’s rise – because it’s an incredible story,” USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter said after the win.
“He went to Fairfield College and went undrafted out of college, and now he’s on the national team and on his way to Arsenal.”
“It’s an incredible story, and it’s all because of him, his work ethic, his self-belief, and his never-say-die mentality.”
“It’s a fantastic story, and Matt is a fantastic teammate who we are fortunate to have.”
“Tonight was a good example of his doing what he needed to accomplish. In every situation, he remained composed. He wasn’t put to much of a test, but he was there when we needed him, and he appeared to be a player who will undoubtedly join Arsenal.”
