Villarreal’s winger Arnaut Danjuma is reportedly eyeing a move to the Premier League this summer, as he plans to quit his Spanish club.
The forward was pivotal to their incredible run in the Champions League which saw them beat the Bundesliga champion, Bayern Munich in the quarter finals, but eventually lost in a fierce battle with Liverpool in the semifinals.
The 25-year-old Dutch international scored a total number of 16 goals across all competitions and has been an important part of the team since Unai Emery took over as their manager.
Futballnews gathered that Liverpool are weighing up a move for Danjuma as Mane is set to quit the Premier League club this summer.
Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp is said to be particularly pleased with Danjuma when his side faced Villarreal in the Champions League semifinals and might consider a move for him should Sadio Mane leave the club.
Sadio Mane has been linked to Bayern Munich since he made his decision to quit the club. Futballnews gathered that Liverpool rejected a second bid from Bayern Munich earlier this week and the German giants are prepared to make another move for him.
Sadio Mane’s exit will create extra space for the Reds to bring in another winger and Danjuma might just be the guy to fill in. The Villarreal forward is said to be available for a decent sum of £50m.
Another factor that might influence him to quit the club is the fact that they failed to secure qualification for the Champions League. A quite disappointing run towards the end of the La liga season saw them finish in seventh place behind the likes of Barcelona, Sevilla, and Real Madrid who won the League.
His name and his fellow teammate’s name Pau Torres have been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly readying a bid to bring him to England.
Liverpool are said to make an instant move for him immediately after Sadio Mane leaves the club. The Reds have been quite shrewd with their signings coupled with the strict policy in the club.
Players such as Luiz Diaz and Jota have been brilliant since they joined Liverpool from Porto FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively. Their recent signing, Ibrahim Konate has been solid at the back for the Reds since joining them from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €35m.
Danjuma might just prove to be another smart business for Liverpool.
