Argentinian side Estudiantes de la Plata is in talks with former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, according to reports.
The Spaniard is said to be interested in a move to the club in 2020 managed by former Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito, who has already signed former Nou Camp team-mate Javier Mascherano.
Estudiantes are currently 13th in the Argentine Superliga, with seven wins, three draws and six defeats from their 16 matches so far this season.
Meanwhile, Iniesta, who left Barcelona in 2018 after 22 years of playing for the Catalan, still has one year left on his contract at Japanese side Vissel Kobe. The 35-year-old enjoyed an illustrious career both for Spain and Barcelona, winning every major honour in the game.
He played 674 times in all for Barcelona, scoring 57 goals and winning nine La Liga titles, six Spanish Cups, four Champions League crowns and three FIFA Club World Cups. He was also capped 131 times for Spain adn he went on to win the World Cup in 2010 and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
However, according to Spanish newspaper Diario Sport, who quote TNT Sports journalist Nicolas Latini in Argentina, Iniesta could be the latest Barca former player to move to South America with other big names such as Daniele De Rossi already plying their trade in the continent.
