Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger has announced the birth of his second child four days after helping Chelsea football club to win the club’s second UEFA Champions League title.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, Antonio Rudiger took to his Instagram page with over 1.6 million followers to post a picture showing when he was carrying the newborn baby in his hands. He was wearing a maternity gown which means that he took the shot in a hospital.

Though he decided to let his followers know that he has become a father again, he didn’t want them to see the face of the newborn baby. Hence, he decided to cover the child’s face with an emoji.

In the caption, the 28-year-old German center-back thanked God for the birth of his second child but didn’t disclose the name, sex, and date of birth of the child.

He wrote: Alhamdulillah for everything – God always has a better plan than we do !!! Aaliyah Trophy Rüdiger – My biggest „Trophy“ ☝🏾🤲🏾❤️ Proud dad for the 2nd time 🙌🏾 #AlwaysBelieve”.

Recall that the German star was instrumental for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final between the London club and Manchester City. He played for 97 minutes in Chelsea’s 1-0 win on May 29 to earn his first Champions League medal.

He gave so much in the game that he ended Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne’s time in the game abruptly after infringing an injury on him. The injury could make the Belgian attacking midfielder miss the first game in the forthcoming European Championship (Euro 2020) which will commence on June 11.

Antonio Rudiger who has been married to Laura since 2019 announced the birth of his first child in February 2020. The child was born few days before Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspur in a fiercely fought London derby. He named the child Djamal Sahr.

While announcing the birth of the child on Instagram then, the German international wrote: “That feeling of being a father for the first time is just incredible Welcome to the world, Djamal Sahr Rüdiger”

In an interview he granted after the London derby, Antonio Rudiger said: “Hundred percent [the best week of my life]. And to win a derby, it is even better. A very good week. This week was a week with ups and downs. But more ups, especially for me because of the birth of my son – the first birth. It was a tough day for me but with this win, I am very happy.”

Though Antonio Rudiger might be busy with Germany in the European Championship between June 11 and July 11, his mind will be at Stamford Bridge as the club was yet to commence contract talks with him before he left for the international duty.

The defender who joined Chelsea from AS Roma on July 1, 2016, for a transfer fee worth €9 million, still has just a season left on his contract with Chelsea, and reports claimed that the London club might not extend his contract.
