The Bianconeri will be looking for an attacker after Alvaro Morata’s return to Atletico Madrid following yet another loan deal.

After spending the previous two seasons in Turin, Morata is now expected to have an effect at Atletico after he surprised Diego Simeone during the preseason. Martial has also had a successful summer after receiving a fresh start under new United manager Erik ten Hag.

Recall that the France international had fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons and his time at Old Trafford appeared to be coming to an end until the Dutchman arrived.

The 26-year-old pushed for a transfer during the January window because of a public argument with interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

However, his move to Sevilla didn’t go as planned, and after a stint in which he scored only once in 12 games, the Spanish club naturally chose not to exercise the option to make the loan deal permanent.

Anthony Martial is now a prominent member of United’s squad in Ten Hag’s first summer in charge of the club and has since become one of the preseason’s standout performers.

Martial has played in each of the new manager’s four games as the line leader because Cristiano Ronaldo decided against traveling with his teammates to Asia and Australia. Throughout that time, he has scored three goals and some of his admirers who had previously given up on him have shown interest in him again.

According to multiple reports, Man United had already informed Martial that he won’t be transferred, especially due to the uncertain future of Cristiano Ronaldo. It is understood that United was open to Martial leaving permanently or on loan, but after watching him play over the previous few weeks, Ten Hag has blocked that from happening.

Ronaldo may yet depart from United since he has made it plain that he would like to move if an acceptable offer is presented. The Portugal star player wants to continue playing in the UEFA Champions League but all the options available – FC Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid have all rejected him.

However, the player is yet to return to camp and will likely miss the first English Premier League game against Brighton. But Erik ten Hag has revealed that he doesn’t want to sell the five times Ballon d’Or winner this summer.

In the same vein, Man United are yet to sign a new striker as their deal with Ajax for Antony is still pending.
