He perfectly blend into Erik Ten Hag’s style, aiding press from the back for an efficient attack, joining and triggering counter attacks with precise long balls, good passing accuracy, confidence with the ball and other breathtaking stops and blocks that kept the score margin respectable.

Against Borussia Dortmund, it was still a stellar performance for the former Inter Milan goalie but it was not all glossy in Manchester United final third between him and former Man United captain Harry Maguire.

Onana howled at Harry Maguire at a point in the game against Borussia Dortmund after his reckless defending nearly saw the Bundesliga side land a punch.

Maguire left Sebastian Haller unmarked, allowing the Borussia Dortmund forward stride forward and make his way through the final third into the box.

While such reactions are typical of all goalkeepers, Andre Onana has clarified why he shouted at Onana. Speaking to MUTV, the 27-year-old said he shouted at Maguire because he demands a lot from all players and tries to talk to them.

“I try to talk to them a lot because I know he’s a good player, he is one of the captains of the team. That’s big and he is good with the ball, so I would demand [from] him a lot and he’s a good, great guy. I have a good relationship with him. I have to be and he has to be ready and I spoke with him because when I’m in the goal, I demand to everyone a lot.
