The alleged sex scandal involving Gylfi Sigurdsson is becoming more intense as his wife Alexandra Ivarsdottir decided to delete her verified Instagram page.
Futballnews has reported that Alexandra Ivarsdottir has reportedly denied that her husband was the Premier League player that allegedly texted underage girls for sexual purposes.
When the report first came out last weekend, the official information from the police was that a 31-year-old man suspected to be a Paedophile was arrested and detained.
Afterward, the suspected Paedophile was said to be a Premier League player. When people were trying to confirm who the Premier League player was and the club he plays for, Everton issued a statement to say a first-team player has been suspended due to an ongoing police investigation.
Though no official body has mentioned that it was Gylfi Sigurdsson that was the suspected Paedophile, some social media users have been speculating that it was the 31-year-old Icelandic football star that committed the sex crime.
Some of the social media users began to troll the Everton football star using different means. Even after the footballer’s wife reportedly came out to insist that her husband was not arrested or detained by the police due to child sex offenses, the scandal has failed to die down.
As the trolling of her husband was going on via different social media platforms, Alexandra Ivarsdottir who was a former Miss Iceland and a Miss World contestant, deleted her verified Instagram page.
As at last check, the Instagram page, @alexandrahelga was no longer available. Once you click the Instagram page handle, the feedback would be: “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram.”
However, that of Gylfi Sigurdsson, @gylfisig23 is still very much active. His last Instagram post which is an advert was shared on June June 7, 2021.
Since the scandal started, the Iceland international has not made any public statement both on Instagram and Twitter which has given people more room to suspect that all is not well with the footballer.
As it stands, the world of football is waiting to see what would become of Alexandra Ivarsdottir and Gylfi Sigurdsson’s marriage if the ongoing scandal is anything to go by.
The Icelandic couple have been lovers since 2010. Since they got married in 2019 until now, there has never been any scandal involving their union.
Before now, Gylfi Sigurdsson is always happy to share loved-up pictures of himself and Alexandra Ivarsdottir via his Instagram page. Hence, it is still very difficult to believe that the footballer has anything to do with the ongoing scandal.
