Alex Iwobi of Everton flies to London to celebrate his 26th birthday with his family

Everton left-winger Alex Iwobi flew from Merseyside to London to celebrate his 26th birthday with his extended family on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

The former Arsenal star took to his Instagram page to share some lovely pictures of his arrival at his family house in London and other breathtaking moments of the birthday celebration.

Alex Iwobi was born in Lagos, Nigeria on May 3, 1996. The 26-year-old Nigerian footballer was born to Nigerian parents Mr. and Mrs. Chuba Iwobi.

When Alex was a child, his parents migrated to Turkey and stayed there for a short while before they migrated to London, England when the footballer was 4-year-old.

Alex and his sister, Marie Iwobi grew up in Newham, London. From there, Arsenal accepted him into the club’s youth system in 2004. He continued with his development in the youth system until 2015.

On July 1, 2015, Alex Iwobi gained promotion to Arsenal’s senior team and played with the team for four seasons before he decided to leave when he could not establish himself in the club.

Before he left Arsenal on August 8, 2019, after Everton paid a transfer fee worth €30.40 million for his services, Alex Iwobi scored 15 goals and provided 27 assists in 149 games in all competitions. He helped the club to win one FA Cup and two Community Shields before he left for Everton.

Since he joined Everton in 2019 where he has been earning £100,000 per week, Alex has scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists in 92 games in all competitions. So far in the 2021-2022 season, Alex has scored three goals and provided 2 assists in 27 games. His contract with Everton will expire on June 30, 2024.

Alex Iwobi who is related to Nigerian legendary footballer, Jay Jay Okocha has played for England from under-16 to under-18 level but decided to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the senior level.

On October 8, 2015, Alex made his international debut for Nigeria. Since then, he has made 50 appearances in all competitions in which he scored 9 goals.

Throughout the ups and downs of his football career, Alex Iwobi’s family members have been there for him. Hence, when he turned 26-year-old on May 3, 2022, he decided to celebrate the special day with them.

In one of the pictures he shared with his Instagram followers, all his family members including him were seen gathered at a dinner table taking pictures and wearing beautiful smiles. Two cakes were stationed before the celebrant.

In another picture, Alex was seen blowing out candles on one of the cakes placed before him.

Also, in another picture, Alex’s father, Chuba Iwobi was seen filming his son who stood as if he was making a speech.

While in the last slide of the series of pictures Alex Iwobi shared, the birthday boy was seen posing with his father, mother, and sister (Marie Iwobi).

In the caption, Alex Iwobi who is currently helping Everton to fight against relegation wrote: “Ain’t Nothing Better Than Family, Appreciate The Love.”

Note that Everton are currently sitting in the bottom three on the Premier League table with 32 games in 33 games, two points away from safety with five league games to go.
