Odion Ighalo hints about his future at Manchester United

Manchester United sensational striker, Odion Ighalo has given a clue on his future in Old Trafford as his loan spell in the club approach its ending. The 30-year-old Nigerian striker was thrown into a state of dilemma after his parent club in China Shanghai Shenhua offered him a new contract earlier in March last month.

The Chinese League which is set to return sooner than all other leagues in the world due to their success in controlling the coronavirus better and faster. While the Chinese League patiently awaits the return of football activities, clubs in the league are already making moves to intensify their team for the new season. In view of this, Shanghai Shenhua decided to call for the return of Odion Ighalo who is believed to be enjoying the moment in his dream club.

The Chinese club offered to give the Nigerian star an additional two-year contract worth about £400k weekly. Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo earns about £100k weekly in Manchester United, however, he seems happy in the club and would be willing to extend his stay.

While many football critics doubt the future of Odion Ighalo in Old Trafford due to the new offer he has received from his parent club in China. Whereas, there have been speculations that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is quite keen on the Nigerian striker and would want to extend his stay in the Red Devils. So in essence, between being rich and famous, the Nigerian player has a choice to make.

Reasonably, he can decide to remain in Manchester United where he can earn more fame for playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Also, he can choose to heed the call from his parent club and return to China where he can earn more money and become richer.

However, the concerned player himself has given a hint on his future in Old Trafford.

In an interview with United’s official website he said: “Seeing the club from the outside you don’t know how big it is. But when you are inside you know how big the club is.

“I am inspired by the way the club is structured, I am inspired by the direction of the club, I am inspired by the development of the young players and how they are coming through from the grassroots to the first team.

“I am inspired by a lot of things at United, I am really inspired and I am looking forward to spending more time with the team.”
