Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane is now the all-time highest away goalscorer in the history of the Premier League after scoring a goal in Spurs’ 2-0 away win over Brighton.

On Wednesday night, March 16, Harry Kane followed Tottenham Hotspur to the Falmer Stadium to play their 28th Premier League game of the season. During the game, the club’s defender Cristian Romero scored the opener in the 37th minute.

Harry Kane had to wait until the 57th minute to double Tottenham Hotspur’s lead. Unfortunately for the 13th placed Brighton, they could not fight back. Hence, the Premier League game ended 2-0 in favor of the visitors.

The win has pushed Tottenham Hotspur to the 7th spot on the league table with 48 points in 28 games, three points away from 4th placed Arsenal.

Before the game, Harry Kane and former Manchester United forward, Wayne Rooney had the same number of away goals in the Premier League. The two English football icons scored 94 Premier League away goals.

But after the 2-0 win over Brighton on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Harry Kane overtook Wayne Rooney who has retired from professional football since 2021.

After the Premier League game which has pushed Tottenham Hotspur closer to a top-four finish, the coach of the club, Antonio Conte described Harry Kane’s away goals record as an “outstanding achievement “.

“It’s an outstanding achievement for him, but we are talking about a world-class striker”, the Italian coach told Sky Sports. “I’m pleased because at the start of the season, it was a bit of a struggle and he didn’t score a lot.

“But now he knows very well that with this team and with the way we are playing, in every game he has chances to score, and for us to have a striker like him, makes us stronger.

“But at the same time, he is feeling is positive because he knows in every game, he will have one, two, or three chances to improve this record.”
