Victor Osimhen went off the rails on Twitter, reacting to a follower with a barrage of violent remarks that didn’t go unnoticed.
Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is not participating in the present African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
While Osimhen had hoped to return in time for AFCON 2021, the Napoli attacker was forced to withdraw due to a Covid-19 infection and consequent exclusion from the Eagles roster list.
As a result, the Napoli striker divides his time between playing for the club and… being active on Twitter.
Osimhen sparked outrage a few days ago when he responded angrily to a follower. However, the striker has slipped this time when another fan irritated him by pointing out that Naples had spent a high price for a Twitter account manager.
Surprisingly, the former Lille player responded without hesitation.
Despite the fact that he is not participating in the event, the Napoli star supports the Super Eagles by posting supporting messages on his Instagram account.
Osimhen returned to training about a week ago after suffering a facial injury in a league game in Italy’s Serie A.
In Napoli’s Serie A match against Inter Milan on November 21, Osimhen suffered a left cheekbone and orbital fracture.
After that, the 22-year-old underwent a successful but difficult surgery.
He is currently preparing to return to play for Napoli, as well as being considered for a comeback to the Super Eagles ahead of the AFCON competition in Cameroon.
Napoli of Serie A announced the purchase of Osimhen on July 31, 2020, for a club-record cost of €70 million, which could rise to €80 million with add-ons, making him the most expensive African transfer to date.
Osimhen scored his first goal for Napoli in a 4–1 win over Atalanta on October 17, 2020. He put out a jersey asking for an end to the current police brutality in his home nation of Nigeria after scoring.

Osimhen was granted permission by his club to spend time in his home nation while recovering from his injury, and he took use of the opportunity to celebrate his birthday. It is suspected that Osimhen caught the COVID-19 virus during these birthday celebrations, as he tested positive when he returned to Naples.
This positive test, combined with his shoulder injury, kept Osimhen out of the starting lineup until January 29, 2021, when he came on as a substitute in Napoli’s Coppa Italia victory over Spezia.
