Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte have agreed on terms (verbally) and all is almost set for the club to officially announce him as the club’s new manager.

The Italian tactician has been in London since Monday afternoon. He and his representatives are tidying up things with Tottenham Hotspur at the time of publishing this report.

All things being equal, Tottenham Hotspur that are currently without a permanent coach barely two days after the exit of coach Nuno Espirito Santo are expected to announce Antonio Conte as the club’s new coach today, November 2, 2021.

Antonio Conte who is regarded as a serial winner has been without a coaching job since he left Inter Milan at the end of last season. He left the club after he helped them to win the Italian Serie A title for the first time in eleven years.

Before he joined Inter Milan, Conte was with Chelsea in London between 2016 and 2018. During his time at the Premier League side, he helped them to win one Premier League title and one FA Cup.

When Tottenham Hotspur sacked Jose Mourinho towards the end of last season, Spurs wanted to appoint Conte instead of Nuno but Conte turned them down. Hence, they had to settle for Nuno who they had to sack four months later.

But now, Antonio Conte is set to take on the challenge of helping the club’s chairman Daniel Levy and the club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici to win titles.

Antonio Conte.

At the time of publishing this report, Antonio Conte was 95 percent the new coach of Tottenham Hotspur. All that is left in the deal was for the parties involved to sign the dotted lines and the official announcement.

Conte would not feel strange at Tottenham Hotspur, not just because he had worked with Chelsea in London, but because Spurs’ managing director of football is an Italian like him.

Apart from that, he and the managing director successfully worked together at Juventus between 2011 and 2014. Hence, it is expected that they would easily reciprocate such a relationship at Tottenham.

Here is the deal Conte agreed with Tottenham

Based on reliable sources, Antonio Conte has agreed to sign an 18-month deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

The deal is said to be a very lucrative one. The new deal which would be announced later today will earn the Italian tactician a whopping £15 million per year.

Apart from that, if Antonio Conte can meet up with expectations, there is an option in the contract which would force the club to extend his stay at the club by a year.

Meanwhile, reports in England claimed that the club’s board has made £150 million available for Conte ahead of his official unveiling to recruit players during the January transfer window.

Conte’s first game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur will be a European Conference League game against Vitesse. The match is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 on Thursday, November 4, 2021.
