Manchester City star Sergio Aguero met with supporters after being voted January’s Player of the Month for a quick Question and Answer. Many fans were surprised to see the forward name Kyle Walker and out of form player John Stones as the funniest players in the dressing room. 

The Argentine international has been in great form having scored seven goals in six appearances in 2020 alone. Thanks to a splendid hat-trick against Aston Villa, the 31-year-old was voted Player of the Month for January by City fans.

While picking up the award, the City player met with supporters and answered a number of questions. One in particular that has got everyone talking is who he believes is the funniest player in the squad. Surprisingly fans thought he would name Benjamin Mendy but instead named two other players to City fans delight. 

Speaking he said, ”There are a few funny guys in the team. But John [Stones] and Kyle [Walker] is always good fun!”

After being ruled out for the majority of December due to injury, Aguero was filled with gratitude after being named the best City player in January.

Speaking on receiving the award after returning shortly after the injury, he said, ” Well obviously I feel really happy to have ton it again especially after an injury,” he continued. “January was really good for me, so I’m just pleased.”

Aguero was also asked on what advice he would give young and aspiring footballers said, ”It’s absolutely necessary to go to all the training sessions.” 

“Try not to miss any of them and above all enjoy it, the matches the training sessions, it’s a piece of advice that can be really important if you want to play at the top level of the game” he added. 

The league’s all-time leading overseas goalscorer joined City in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and broke Thiery Henry’s record against Aston Villa on January 12. The Argentine scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 177 league goals to surpass the Arsenal legend, who found the net 175 times. The hat-trick was Aguero’s 12th in his Premier League career, taking that record outright having previously shared it with Alan Shearer, who remains the competition’s most prolific player with 260 goals.
