Former PSV Midfielder Rai Vloet Faces Two And a Half Years In Prison After Causing An Accident That Killed A Four-year-old Boy

Former PSV midfielder Rai Vloet is currently facing two and a half years in prison for causing a brutal accident that led to the demise of a four-year-old boy.

Vloet was sentenced in 2023 for the horrible incident that happened in November 2021.

The player is expected to appeal the court judgement after the Public Prosecution Service called for an extension on his sentence by 12 months.

Other sources revealed the player has withdrawn the appeal on September 3, 2024. Also, he will pay thousands of euros for damages to the family of the deceased.

It was confirmed that Vloet was excessively drunk with a bloodshot eye during further investigation. He was also charged with overspeeding, which led to the death of four years old.

Vloet is currently considering retiring from football after the court sentence. He wants to serve the two and a half years sentence without any disruption.

Belgian side Sint-Truiden signed the player as a free agent on February 4, 2019. Vloet joined Excelsior on a one-year contract with another option for another year on July 13, 2019.

After a year at Excelsior, Vloet went on to join Heracles Almelo on June 22, 2020. In 2022, he joined FC Astana.
