Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has taken a swipe at his critics for lacking football knowledge.

The former Ajax boss has been under pressure following United’s poor campaign this season.

Despite grappling with a crippling injury crisis that has limited his starting lineups, some United fans and pundits believe the Dutch would have done more to manage the injury crisis and set the team on a modest pedestal this term.

Ten Hag’s credibility as United manager was dealt a further blow when United suffered a shock 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in their last game.

Man United legend and former midfielder Paul Scholes did not mince words as he called for the Dutch to be sacked after the Crystal Palace capitulation.

Another United legend and former defender Rio Ferdinand has been critical of Erik ten Hag’s tactics, including Roy Keane who has also mouthed the EFL Cup winner for United’s sore performances.

Amidst the backlog of criticisms, Erik ten Hag has kept his head high, maintaining he is still the best alternative for the United job and will turn things around next season.

The four-time Eredivisie winner went further to clap back on his critics recently when asked about them before the Arsenal game.

In a comment apparently directed to Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, and their critical minions, ten Hag said they lack football knowledge and have never coached a club before.

“Yes, my critics have been unfair. It is no surprise though because they have not coached a club before and do lack football knowledge,” he said.

It is not the first time, Erik ten Hag has blasted his critics for what he believes it is unfair criticisms. The Dutch has vehemently blamed United’s woes this season on a piling injury crisis.
