Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter has turned down an offer from Ajax amidst rumors linking him to a move to Manchester United.
The former Brighton manager proceeded on a short sabbatical after he was sacked as Chelsea manager just a few months into the job.
He has been out of the dugout since his Chelsea deadlock but has been linked to some possible managerial openings in the summer.
Dutch side, Ajax, were among the list of clubs interested in a move for Graham Potter. The Sun reports the falling Eredivisie giants have approached Potter for a deal to have him take over the dugout at Amsterdam but have been turned down.
It is still unclear why Potter rejected the offer by Ajax but the reasons could not be far-fetched from his desire to possibly return to the dugout in England where he first emerged into the limelight following a standout campaign with Brighton.
Also, there have been reports from the English media that the former Chelsea boss is a strong contender to replace under-pressure Man United manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag has been under fire due to United’s stuttering campaign in the Englishman topflight and Europe. The Red Devils suffered their 13th Premier League defeat, abashedly collapsing like a pack of cards to Olivier Glasner’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
