Premier League Club Liverpool are close to securing a deal for highly-rated Dutch and Feyenoord manager Arne Slot
Slot, 45, emerged as a top candidate to succeed soon-to-be-leave Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has just four games left to wrap up a historic nine-year chapter with the Reds.
Known for his attacking and offensive style of play which resonates with the Liverpool tradition, the Feyenoord boss could be in the dugout as the new Liverpool boss next season.
According to The Mail, Liverpool are close to securing a deal with Feyenoord for the Eredivisie and KNVB winner.
The Reds opened talks with Feyenoord on Wednesday, April 24. It is understood negotiations are on the fast lane and could be concluded in a matter of days.
Slot, who was previously targeted by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur last season, is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League.
He is contracted to Feyenoord till 2026 but could leave in the summer with no release clause attached to his contract.
And Feyenoord are reportedly open to his departure but want a compensation fee to the tune of £10m before striking a deal with the Reds.
Futballnews understands Liverpool stepped up their push for Slot after their favorite candidate and Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim traveled to London for talks with West Ham United.
According to reports, Amorim who did not agree terms with West Ham after the talks, originally intended to get Liverpool to step up their move for him but it appears he has fallen out of favor afterwards.
However, it is understood Liverpool’s options are still open but Slot is more likely to take over from Jurgen Klopp as things stand.
