Vinai Venkatesham has announced that he will be leaving Arsenal after 14 years at the club. He will be leaving his role as chief executive in the summer of 2024.
Vinai Venkatesham joined Arsenal in 2010 as head of global partnerships. He was promoted to managing director in 2018 and then to chief executive in 2021.
During his time at Arsenal, Venkatesham has overseen a period of significant change at the club. He has been involved in the development of the club’s new stadium, the Emirates, and has also helped to improve the club’s commercial operations.
Venkatesham said in a statement: “I have had a fantastic 14 years at Arsenal and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. I am grateful to the Kroenke family for their support and to all the staff and players for their hard work and dedication.
“I am leaving Arsenal with a heavy heart but I am excited about the next chapter in my career. I wish the club all the best for the future.”
Arsenal’s owner, Stan Kroenke, said: “Vinai Venkatesham has been a key member of the Arsenal team for many years and has made a significant contribution to the club’s success. We are grateful for his hard work and dedication and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Venkatesham’s departure comes at a time when Arsenal are facing some challenges. The club have not won a trophy since 2020 and they are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table.
It remains to be seen who will replace Vinai Venkatesham as chief executive. However, his departure is another sign of the changes that are taking place at Arsenal.
