Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand have battled it out with each other over Harry Kane’s potential move to Bayern Munich.
Recall we reported that Harry Kane has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich and the Englishman is set to make the switch.
Before now, reports claimed that there had been a growing feeling that he was planning to stay with Spurs but the latest bid, worth over £95million, was reluctantly accepted after a lengthy saga.
Carragher insisted that the striker would prefer to become the Premier League’s all-time record goal scorer, a feat he is rapidly closing in on achieving.
Jamie Carragher, who took his thoughts to Twitter, wrote: “Alan Shearer’s PL goal record gets talked about a lot more than his PL winners medal. That record will be huge for HK.”
“The big plus for going to Bayern is to guarantee he plays CL football & a chance to win that trophy every season. It’s not about their domestic trophies, they’ll win them anyway & I’m sure he’d rather have the PL record than the Bundesliga!”
Ferdinand said: “You don’t start ya [sic] career saying you want to win the golden boot winner – you want to win things for ya team.”
“You only make it personal honors when that’s ya only option! Good luck @HKane.”
Harry Kane, who Jamie Carragher wants to remain in EPL, currently holds 213 goals to his name in the Premier League and finds himself just 47 goals behind Shearer.
If Kane decides to remain at Tottenham beyond this season, the Englishman is certain to surpass that record.
German Champions Bayern Munich have reached all agreement to finally sign their target, who would likely earn about £400,000-per-week at the club.
Kane has one year left on his contract and has no intention of extending his contract this summer, however, he could, therefore, still leave as a free agent next year.

Former Tottenham manager David Pleat described Kane as an “old-fashioned traditional center-forward”.
Harry Kane is a tall and physical striker and his style of play has been compared to that of former Tottenham forward Jürgen Klinsmann, a comparison Kane called flattering in February 2015.
Kane, 30, has played 435 matches in various competitions for Tottenham and has scored 280 goals and provided 64 assists.
With these stats, the Spurs and England captain is sure to fit into Bayern Munich and this is the season the German side wants him so badly.
