Romano tweeted: “Here we go! Edinson Cavani to Boca Juniors.” The verbal agreement for the deal has been finalized and is valid until December 2024.”

Meanwhile, it was reported on July 28 that Cavani has accepted the conditions of the agreement as he is leaving Valencia on a free transfer.

His departure from the La Liga club will reportedly cost him around £1.28m according to The Sun, but he decided to terminate the deal to join Boca Juniors.

Cavani joined Valencia just a year ago, following the expiration of his contract at Manchester United.

However, he faced challenges in Spain, as he struggled to reach his peak performance due to various injury problems.

In August, he signed a two-year contract with the Spanish team Valencia.
However, he only scored seven goals in 28 matches as he gradually loses his pace in the later stages of his career.

The Uruguay striker scored a total of five goals in the top-flight last season.

The 36-year-old Uruguayan forward departed from Old Trafford last summer after spending two seasons with the club. During his time there, he scored 19 goals in 59 appearances.

Valencia are reportedly on the hunt to acquire new forwards during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This is particularly to replace Edinson Cavani who appears to be leaving the club after only one year.

According to Relevo, the Spanish club have identified Rafa Mir as Cavani’s replacement.

The 26-year-old player is not included in Jose Luis Mendilibar’s plans for the upcoming season at Sevilla.

As a result, he will be permitted to depart from the team and Los Che are the favorites to secure his signature.

However, the deal has not progressed significantly as Valencia is unwilling to meet Sevilla’s current demands. They hope for a decrease in these prices in the coming weeks, which would facilitate the completion of a deal.
