Tottenham Hotspur have rejected Bayern Munich’s second bid for Harry Kane as they tighten their grip on the prolific forward.

We reported earlier that Bayern Munich were not ready to back off from Harry Kane move and have tabled a second bid for the England star.

However, it is understood Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, is not ready to part ways with the striker who has a year remaining in his Tottenham contract.

Bayern Munich tabled a first bid worth £70m plus add-ons for Harry Kane which was turned down immediately.

On Sunday, the Bavarians submitted a fresh bid for Kane which is said to be a £80m offer representing a £10m increase in the first offer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich have no intention to accept the bid and sources close to the club have confirmed they have turned down the offer in muted tones just as they did with the first offer.

Tottenham’s rejection of Bayern Munich’s second offer for Harry Kane is not coming as a surprise. It was expected that Spurs would reject the bid even though Kane’s contract is just a season away from expiring.

Harry Kane is yet to sign a new Tottenham contract but it is understood the club do not want sell him. However, sources close to the London club have revealed that should Daniel Levy decides to part ways with Kane, he would demand an offer in excess of £100m after West Ham sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m.

According to reports, Kane will have a big role in his Tottenham exit if he wants to leave the club. His decision will be a deal breaker in the building transfer saga between Tottenham and Bayern Munich.

With only 12 months remaining in his contract, Daniel Levy’s weak point will be the gloomy prospects of losing Harry Kane on a free transfer after the upcoming 2023/24 season.

We understand Bayern Munich will not quickly back off from the move with Thomas Tuchel, who have been at the dugout in London, said to have impressed Kane with his Bayern Munich project and proposal.

Also, Bayern Munich technical director Michael Rechske is also keen on signing Kane this summer to fill the void left at the club by the exit of Robert Lewandwoski to Barcelona.

With Choupo-Moting and Sadio Mane failing to live up to the bidding, Kane has become a prime target for the Bundesliga giants with his wealth of experience, technical abilities in the final third, and prolific goal stats being an envy of the persisting suitors.

Meanwhile, despite receiving two bids for Kane from the Bundesliga outfit, Tottenham are yet to give greenlights for a round-table talks but Bayern Munich are more likely to still press on and launch a third bid for the player.

Last season, Harry Kane rolled back Tottenham’s dismal campaign to hurl in 30 goals for the team.

With Champions League football in stock for the England star, Kane may likely push through a move to the Bundesliga giants but he is yet to take a decision on his Tottenham future.
