Bayern Munich have made a bid for highly-rated England and Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

The Bundesliga champions have tabled an opening bid worth £70m for Harry Kane comprising of £60m transfer fee and £10m add-ons.

Harry Kane has been a top target for big clubs in Europe this summer. Manchester United and Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the prolific striker.

Kane has one year left on his contract. Tottenham are keen on keeping him and possibly having him renew his contract but the lack of European football next season is more likely to bear on Kane’s decision on his future at the club.

The record goal-scorer for Tottenham and England has been linked to a possible exit from Tottenham this summer with interests from Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.

Now, according to The Athletic, Bayern Munich have tabled an opening bid for Harry Kane to sign the player this summer from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bavarians are now the first club to table a bid for the England international.

As expected, Tottenham Chairman and hardline negotiator, Daniel Levy, has outrightly rejected the bid as he considers it below the value of Kane.

Sources close to the Tottenham Chief reveals he is desperate not to sell Harry Kane to Premier League rivals and will want an offer in excess of £100m should he decide to sell the player this summer.

Bayern Munich are considered favorites to sign Harry Kane. Manchester United are curently facing a glitch in the supply of funds for transfer activities due to the dragging takeover process.

Erik Ten Hag is currently pursuing relatively low target players in other positions and will certainly not enter the race for Harry Kane due to Tottenham’s high price tag for the player.

Harry Kane’s contract renewal suffered delays last year as the player reportedly wanted to avoid the distractions of talks and negotiations while hoping to lead the club to a Champions League spot in the Premier League.

Sadly, Spurs campaign ended on a disastrous note with the club crashing out of all European football places on the Premier League table.

Despite the abysmal campaign, Harry Kane was still on top of his game at a personal level. He finished second on 2022/23 Premier League top scorers chart with 30 goals for Tottenham.

On February, Kane sealed his place as Tottenham all-time top-scorer, overtaking Jimmy Greaves after he netted his 267th goal for Spurs. Kane went on to extend the tally to 280 goals in 435 games for Spurs at the end of the season.

He also took his brilliant outing for Spurs to England national team, overtaking Wayne Rooney, as England all-time top-scorer with 58 goals in 80 appearances.

Such standout performance have made him an envy of most clubs with Bayern Munich now leading the race to sign him.

The Bundesliga giants are still searching for a top striker to step into the shoes of Robert Lewandwoski, who left the club to join Barcelona last summer.

Harry Kane is considered a perfect fit for the Bavarians and a move could represent a big leap in his career with a good chance of ending his years of trophy drought at Tottenham.
