Due to his impressive start to the season with Fulham, the club has completed the permanent signing of winger Ivan Cavaleiro from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

The 26-year-old joined Wolves in the summer of 2016 from Monaco for £7million and scored 19 goals and provided 20 assists in 106 appearances before leaving for the Cottagers in the summer of 2018 following lack of game time. This season, Cavaleiro has been a key figure for Scott Parker’s side, scoring five goals and registering six assists in 26 times in all competitions

Announcing the signing on their official website, Fulham confirm that they have triggered their option to make the move permanent for an undisclosed fee. The club added that the Portuguese has signed a contract until the summer of 2024, with the London side having the option to extend the deal by a further year.

The statement read: “The club is pleased to confirm that the permanent registration of Ivan Cavaleiro as a Fulham player has been completed.

“Cavaleiro will remain at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2024, with a club option to extend the deal by a further year.”

Also speaking on the deal, Cottagers vice-chairman Tony Khan said: “Since joining us in the summer Ivan has shown real quality and I know there’s much more to come. He is an extremely gifted player, already registering five goals and six assists, he’s been outstanding for us so far.

He said: “He has the ability to make a difference in a game so I am excited that he’s a Fulham player until at least 2024. I worked hard to get him here and I know Ivan has a big part to play in the journey ahead to get us back to where we want to be, in the Premier League. Come on Fulham!”

Fulham sit fifth in the Championship, having picked up 42 points from their opening 26 matches.
